I have written various computer programs for drawing two and three dimensional graphics. The images I create are generated with the repeated transformations of translation, rotation and scale. I created coloring algorithms in the late 1980's as a graduate student in engineering and I have refined them over the last 30 years.
I spend a lot of time on a computer and frequently feel the need to do something creative without the contraint of mathematical precision. My acrylic paintings are a step in that direction. A wind storm knocking down some of my trees, motivated me to do some creative woodworking. Watching branch after branch go into the wood chipper made me sad so I decided to rescue some of the wood to preserve the essence in some small way. I have also been fortunate to encounter generous people who have allowed me to take some of their unwanted wood to expand my range of materials. Please feel free to contact me if you have any extra wood that I can make into art.
